GOTHIC & INDUSTRIAL for the World:
|
|
One of my paramount goals is to assist my listening audience over the edge of reality into the abyss of darkness that is the amorphous mass of ever expanding waves of sound being gestated by the musical entity know as the Gothic /Industrial movement. As well as seeing what has come before in its evolution.

This special event focused on the works of Der Eisenrost & Chu Ishikawa, as well as their side project C.H.C. System and the sounds tracks they do for the films of Shinya Tsukamoto; director of Tetsuo: The Iron Man, Tokyo Fist, Gemini and the new film A Snake of June. Highlights included an interview in Japanese with Mr. Grundy's feeble English translations, live performances and never before released new material. We also had a live interview on the phone with Mr. Seki & Ishikawa from Tokyo during their lunchtime. Many thanks for their help and cooperation's in assisting in the accumulation of information and music for this special. This event was broadcast live on "KFJC" 89.7 FM in the San Francisco Bay Area and though the KFJC web page live over the internet for the world to hear.

Gothic and Industrial for the world:
Well here we are at the beginning of what I hope will be another excellent adventure in one of the chapters in the book of my life. I personally have been involved in the music scene since the mid 80’s in one form or another. Having always listened to the progressive sounds of KFJC helped to twist my idea of music into what it is today. Going from listening to H/C punk & progressive dark metal bands to the edges of experimental sounds.
In the mid 90’s my lovely wife, who also loves KFJC, suggested that we start taking radio classes to prep for doing some future activities with KFJC; being at the time we had several friends that had shows. In the long run she found that she was to shy to handle being on the air while I went on to have a show called “At The Mountains of Madness”. It was here that I developed my crafty skills into music and sounds that fell into the areas of darkness.
It was in late1998 that I was contacted by the fledgling Internet music company called Spinner.com, formally know as the DJ. This was well before they moved to San Francisco and then bought by AOL. They contracted me to fully maintain the Gothic channel and the Industrial channel. Due to the fact they had been receiving way to many complaints.
When I arrived the two channels were in shambles because they had no real idea how to deal with those particular categories of music. Through the years I have made every attempt to make this a place were all could come and soak into the nether regions of dark music.
Needless to say the amount of time that it takes to do these channels required me to discontinue my regular KFJC show. I do go back and do fill-ins and collaborate on special events like interviews and live bands in studio to this day.
Having had these special opportunities presented to me has permitted me the ability to help perpetuate the dark underground music scene. So I extended a worm hand to any bands that wish to contact me and submit the creations that they have to offer. No strings attached and all are welcome. Being both channels run 24/7 there is room for all to play. Spinner.com also serves up music to Radio@Netscape were you will also find the sounds of the Gothic and Industrial channels.
I hope you will all enjoy your selves while listening to these channels. Please feel free to contact me with comments or questions; my crypt is always open.
